Introduction

Wirral Grammar School for Girls is a selective academy for girls in Bebington, Wirral. The primary vision for Wirral Grammar School for Girls is for all of their girls to reach their greatest potential, while being in a stimulating, happy environment. According to Wirral Grammar School for Girls, Wirral Girls feel that they are respected, included, safe, and celebrated, with their contributions being valued and their opinions sought after. Ofsted has reported the school at “Outstanding”, praising many aspects of the school, however this was in 2008 and so this information is very outdated. The headteacher said that the school fosters traditional values such as self-discipline, community spirit, and thoughtfulness. 

Wirral Grammar School for Girls performed very well academically in 2019, with a “Well above average” Progress 8 score of 0.78, which says that students of Wirral Grammar School for Girls progress at a much greater rate than most other schools in the country. As for 2019s GCSE results, 93% of pupils achieved a 5+ in English and Maths, and the Attainment 8 score was 71.5, almost 25 points above the national average.
