Introduction

Ashlawn School is a mixed bi-lateral academy in Hillmorton, Rugby. Ashlawn School Exam Format

The 11 Plus entry exam for Ashlawn School only applies for those looking to get one of the 31 places awarded based on academic success. We will only be speaking of the admissions policy in regards to the academic places.

The Ashlawn School Entry Exam: Overview

Ashlawn School’s 11 Plus entry exam consists of two GL papers, each being about 50 minutes long. The papers will be divided into smaller sections that will be individually timed. These sections will test Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, and Maths.

Pass Mark

There are 31 places that will be awarded based on academia. These places will be awarded to applicants who achieve the qualifying score. The qualifying score is not known. There is also a minimum academic standard score that is not known.

Catchment Area

Of the 31 places available, 15 will be awarded to applicants living in the Eastern Area of Warwickshire. 

The other 16 places will be allocated to children living in the priority circle. Should all of these places not be filled then places will be awarded to applicants who achieved the minimum academic standard. Within a category, greater priority is given to those living closest to the school. 

 

The Eastern Area of Warwickshire is defined as: Rugby plus the parishes of Dunchurch, Cawston, Thurlaston, Leamington Hastings, Birdingbury, Grandborough, Wolfhamcote, Willoughby, Binley Woods, Brinklow, Brandon and Bretford, Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Bubbenhall, Walston, Church Lawford, Long Lawford, Stretton-on-Dunsmore, Princethorpe, Frankton, Marton, Bourton and Draycote, Churchover, Clifton-on-Dunsmore, Coombe Fields, Cosford, Easenhall, Harborough Magna, Kings Newnham, Little Lawford, Monks Kirby, Newton and Biggin, Pailton, Stretton under-Fosse, Wibtoft, Willey, Withybrook. 

 

The priority circle is defined as a circle with a radius of 10.004 miles centred on the Rugby Water Tower.
