Introduction

Queen Elizabeth’s School is a selective academy for boys in Barnet, Hertfordshire. Queen Elizabeth’s School was founded in 1573 and has been offering education for over 400 years. The school offers a meritocratic environment where every pupil can reach their maximum potential in all aspects of the education, both academic and extracurricular. In 2022 an Ofsted inspection of Queen Elizabeth’s School, Barnet was performed and was found to be “Outstanding” in all major aspects. They reported that all students have a broad curriculum, which is highly ambitious. Teachers are experts in their field, pupils’ understanding is checked and pupils are appropriately supported so that they can progress with the class. Pupils are polite, productive, and joyful when at school.

In 2019 Queen Elizabeth’s School, Barnet achieved a very high Progress 8 score of 1.08, which is “Well Above Average”. 100% of students take the EBacc, and the average score for an EBacc at Queen Elizabeth’s School, Barnet is 8.38, the local average is 5.27. 100% of students achieved a 5+ in English and Maths at GCSE. The Attainment 8 score was 84.6, the local average was 57.1, and the national average was 46.7.
