Pass Mark
The Kent Test and selective testing is general is not quite like other assessments where to succeed you must reach a threshold number of points to achieve a certain grade for example 80% means a grade A. Rather Grammar School admission tests are a way of identifying the highest performing students in a year group. The raw marks your child receives for each section of the exam will be statistically standardised as compared to other students, with a small adjustment made for the comparative age of a child within the year group. These standardised scores produce a ranking of all students taking the Kent Test and approximately the top 25% of scorers will be awarded ‘Grammar’ distinction making them eligible for admission to Dane Court Grammar School. For specific details see ‘Area Test – The Kent Test’.
