Introduction

Watford Grammar School for Girls is an academy for girls in Watford, Hertfordshire. The main aims of Watford Grammar School for Girls are to accommodate the drive to learn, development of skills, both academic and social in their students, and help them learn to better make judgments and decisions based on personal ethical beliefs, and to be respectful and tolerant of everyone around them. Watford Grammar School for Girls is a place where girls are encouraged to be themselves and to find out what that means, it’s a place where everyone is an equal and is valued as such. Students at Watford Grammar School for Girls are encouraged to start their own societies based on their own interests, these are primarily student-led with staff supporting them in doing so. Opportunities such as these are what help children learn what they enjoy and what motivates them.

In 2019 Watford Grammar School for Girls achieved a Progress 8 score of 9.7, which is “Well above average”. The Attainment 8 score achieved was 71, the local average is 51.1. 75% of the students took the EBacc, the average for the local area is 48%. The average EBacc point score for Watford Grammar School for Girls was 6.64, which is greater than the local average of 4.56. Of the students at Watford Grammar School for Girls who received their GCSE exam results in 2019, 89% achieved a 5+ in Maths and English, over double the national average, and much greater than the local average of 52%.
