Founded in 1985, following a merger between Crossley and Porter School and Heath Grammar School, The Crossley Heath School is a co-educational grammar and specialist language college based in Halifax. It became an academy in 2013 and operates a popular house system with four houses competing across the year in various events. The school’s unique 1861 building allows students to experience history alongside modern conveniences within their learning environment.

There isn’t an exact pass mark as the test scores are age-standardised for fairness.
The two papers are set by the GL 11 Plus exam board. These assessments test a child’s competency in English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning using multiple choice papers which are externally marked via computer.
When there is a large cohort of candidates, the schools are required to ensure supervision requirements of the children are effectively met. This means your child may sit the exam at North Halifax, though it does not make any difference where your child sits the test as children are housed according to postcodes where possible.
