The first step to securing a place at a prestigious English grammar school is effective preparation for the Selective Entrance Examination. Across the 177 English grammar schools there are around 16 school consortiums and 25 fully independent schools, all of which have their own take on precisely what content children should be assessed on. Even within the major exam boards GL and CEM there is a degree of variation which is especially evident between schools sitting Independant exams. For an individual household this can be an arduous task to unravel and this is why 11 Plus Hero was created, to help you and your child understand what to prepare for and help secure your admission place.
As well as content it is also important that your child has ample opportunity to become familiar with the format of the specific assessment they will be taking, and settled in the type of environment Admissions Tests will be sat in so that they can dedicate their time and focus to tackling the Test. Multiple choice style testing is not common in schools and any time spent confused about how to answer questions means less time finding answers. For these reasons we strongly suggest that your child be given the opportunity to sit in person mock exams curated to match the environment they will face come the day of the real test.
