Altrincham Grammar School for Girls’ 11 Plus entry exam is provided by CEM and is common to all of the grammar schools in the Trafford Grammar Schools CEM Consortium (“TGSCC”).
The Altrincham Grammar School for Girls Entry Exam: Overview
Altrincham Grammar School for Girls uses exams from CEM for their entry exams. The entry exam consists of two tests taken on the same day, with each being an hour long. There will be a short break between the tests, snacks will not be provided so it is advised that you bring your own. The test will consist of questions testing Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, and Mathematics.

Applicants who achieve the qualifying score of 334 are qualified for admission. Applicants who do not qualify for admission will not be admitted.
Catchment area

Additional eligibilities
- Applicants who achieve a qualifying score of 324 to 333 and are eligible for “Looked After Children” or “Pupil Premium” will be qualified for admission.
Applicants must have achieved the relevant qualifying score in order to be admitted. They will be admitted in the following order, followed by students who do not have additional eligibility.
- Applicants who are eligible for “Education, Health and Care Plan” will be admitted regardless of distance from the school.
- “Looked After Children” will be admitted regardless of where they live.
- “Pupil Premium” children who live within the catchment area will be admitted
- Girls who have a sister currently attending Altrincham Grammar School for Girls who live within the catchment area will be admitted.
