Introduction

Stretford Grammar School is a selective, mixed school in Stretford, Manchester. The Stretford Grammar School Entry Exam: Overview

Stretford Grammar School’s 11 Plus entry exam consists of two CEM papers. These papers will contain questions on Mathematics, Non-Verbal Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning. The papers will each be around one hour long, they will be taken after one another with a short break in between.

Catchment Area

Extry Exam: Pass Criteria

The pass criteria for Stretford Grammar School is a mark of 334 or higher on the entrance exam. Applicants must achieve the pass criteria in order to be considered for a place. 20 places will be awarded to the top scorers in the entrance exam irrespective of how far they live from the school. 

 

Catchment area 

Stretford Grammar School catchment area is defined as the postcodes: M32, M33, M41, M15 and M16 (both within Trafford and Manchester) and including M21, this being the next closest postcode to the school. Priority will be given to applicants living within the catchment area, should there still be places to be awarded, applicants living outside of the catchment area will be admitted, with the applicants living closest to the school having the greater priority. 

 

Additional eligibilities

Applicants who achieve the pass criteria and are eligible for any of the following will be awarded a place.

  • “Looked After Children”
  • “Pupil Premium” – 32 places will be awarded to applicants who are eligible for “Pupil Premium” irrespective of distance. Should there not be 32 successful “Pupil Premium” applicants then applicants scoring 324 or above will be admitted to make up to 32. Places will be awarded in order of score achieved in the entrance exam. 
  • Siblings of children in Years 7-11 currently attending Stretford Grammar School
