Introduction
Tiffin School is a selective academy for boys in Kingston-upon Thames, Surrey. Founded in 1638 by Thomas and John Tiffin, Tiffin School has been educating young minds for centuries. The Vision of Tiffin School is to inspire their students to engage, aspire and excel in everything that they do. Tiffin School aims to Nurture, Develop and Foster its students so that they may grow into fine young men. Rowing is an important sport for Tiffin School, they have a partnership with Kingston Rowing Club and a boathouse in Canbury Gardens. The facilities of Tiffin School are constantly being upgraded, with a large extension to the sports centre in 2021, and a new Sixth Form Centre in 2022. Ofsted reviewed the school in 2022 and found it to be “Good”, achieving a “good” mark in the quality of education and the leadership of the school, all other key aspects such as the Sixth Form, behaviour of the students, and students development were “Outstanding”.
In 2019 Tiffin School achieved a Progress 8 score of 0.79, which is “Well above average”. Of the students at Tiffin School that were taking their GCSE exams that year, 95% achieved a 5+ in English and Maths. 97% of them had taken the EBacc, the local average was 61%. Tiffin School Exam Format
Tiffin School uses a two-stage testing process for its 11 Plus entry exam. The first test is a “sifting test”. Should you do well enough in the Stage One exam then you will be invited to the Stage Two exam.

Pass Mark
The Stage One exam will be taken and around 600 applicants will be invited back to take the Stage Two exam. Applicants must take both exams in order to be accepted. Places will be awarded based on rank order achieved in the Stage Two exam. In 2022 the lowest mark achieved by a student who was offered a place was 103.

Catchment Area
The priority area is defined as 10km from the school. For 2020-2022 places were only offered to those living in the priority area, as such it is unlikely that you will be awarded a place if you do not live within the priority area.
