Introduction

Kesteven and Sleaford High School is a selective academy for girls up to the sixth-form, where it is mixed. The key aims of Kesteven and Sleaford High School include working as a team, encouraging enthusiasm, and promoting independence. All of these aims are shown to be met in the 2017 Ofsted report. Ofsted reported that the school has a “very strong community feeling” and that “attendance is high”, they also spoke highly of the leadership, governors, and staff. Due to empowerment of the teachers, there is a robust system of checking that the pupils are achieving well.

In 2019 Kesteven and Sleaford High School achieved an above average score of 0.45 in their Progress 8 score, this is a good indication of the growth students achieve compared to other schools nationwide. 86% of GCSE students achieved a 5+ in both English and Maths. The Attainment 8 score is nearly 18 points above the local and national average. These statistics suggest that while the school does not consist of as many naturally highly gifted students as other schools in the Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools, it provides its students with more meaningful academic growth.
