The Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School Entry Exam: Overview

The pass mark is a standardised score of 220. Applicants who successfully score greater than the pass mark will be considered for entry. The first consideration is catchment area, if the applicant is from the catchment area then they will be admitted before others, if there are too many applicants from the catchment area then they will be awarded places based on merit in the entry test. If there are more places then students from outside of the catchment area will be ordered by merit and the remaining places will be awarded to the top scorers.
The entry exam is a GL 11 Plus exam. It will be composed of two tests, one on Verbal Reasoning, and the other on Non-Verbal Reasoning. The tests will be multiple choice.
