Introduction
Queen Elizabeth’s High School is a selective, mixed school in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. At Queen Elizabeth’s they believe that in order for there to be academic progress in their students, first they must be happy, ordered, respectful, and trusting. According to an Ofsted report in 2021 they will achieve much of these things, the students are happy and respectful, however the quality of teaching is very much lacking. The Ofsted report makes it clear that the failings of the school in achieving the potential of its students lie in poor management and lesson planning. It appears that many students are not challenged enough academically and so are not meeting their potential in school. However the staff are confident that the school will improve over time as the new management is more open to change than in previous years.
