Introduction
Kendrick School in Reading is a selective 11-18 girls’ school with academy status. The school is continuing to expand until September 2024, when there will be 32 students in each of the four forms in Years 7-11. Kendrick School strongly promotes the values of equality, tolerance and justice, and the students are expected to actively make a difference to their own lives and others. Headteacher Ms. Kattirtzi is passionate about the school offering the best possible education and has the resolve and vision to “lead, inspire and make a difference to the lives of girls and young women.”

Kendrick School Exam Format
The Kendrick School 11 plus exam uses the same format as the CEM test used by the Slough Consortium. The two papers are designed to assess Numerical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning skills, though the Verbal Reasoning section may also include a reading comprehension. Questions are mainly multiple choice with a large emphasis on reasoning skills. The format of the test is likely to be unfamiliar to your child and the difficulty of familiarisation materials can seem daunting. 11 Plus Hero is here to help you best prepare for the CEM exam with useful guidance and practice papers.
Test Overview
The CEM test consists of two exam papers, each approximately 60 minutes in length. These tests may both contain a mix of Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning which differs for each cohort.
Paper One: (A choice of) Verbal Reasoning (VR) Non-Verbal Reasoning (NVR) and Numerical Reasoning (NR)
Paper Two: (A choice of) Verbal Reasoning (VR) Non-verbal Reasoning (NVR) and Numerical Reasoning (NR)

Additional Eligibility
In order for your daughter to be considered for more than one school, such as a school within the Slough Consortium, the raw marks of the test will be shared with them following the appropriate standardisation process. It is essential that you separately register for each school and consult the guidelines in each school’s admission policy. You must specify that your daughter will take the test at Kendrick School.
Education Health and Care Plan
Automatic admission applies to children with an Education Health and Care Plan or Statement of Educational Need which has Kendrick School named by the Local Authority. The admission of these qualifying students will reduce the overall availability of places for other applicants.
Oversubscription criteria
