Pass Mark
Marks for the English and Maths paper are combined with marks from the Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning papers to create an aggregate score. This value is standardised and subjected to age adjustment, so as not to disadvantage younger children. Every year a threshold pass mark is decided upon based on variations in the difficulty of the Kent Test and the scores of children taking the test across Kent. As such we cannot quote a set passing threshold before the results come out. It is estimated that the top 25% of academically performing children will gain admission to grammar school.Further details can be found here: ‘Selective Tests in Kent – The Kent Test’.
